Delhi minister chairs meeting with trade representatives addresses the validation of 27 unregulated industrial sectors

New Delhi [India], December 27 (ANI): Delhi's Minister of Industries, Saurabh Bharadwaj, held a crucial meeting at the Delhi Secretariat with business organizations in Delhi, said an official statement from the Delhi government on Wednesday.
The business organizations representing the 27 unregulated industrial sectors in Delhi had expressed their grievances in previous meetings.
There are approximately 27 unregulated industrial sectors in Delhi. The struggle to regularize these sectors has been ongoing for a long time.
Today, in this series, Delhi's Minister of Industries, solicited information about the progress of work in the meeting and directed the officials of the relevant departments present at the meeting to expedite the pending tasks.
This initiative aims to bring relief to all factory owners and the millions of workers employed in these approximately 27,000 factories in the 27 unregulated industrial sectors.
During the meeting, Bharadwaj explained, "Business organizations from different sectors in Delhi had submitted a request to CM Arvind Kejriwal regarding the 27 distinct industrial sectors in Delhi. The request emphasized the need to regulate these unregulated industrial sectors in Delhi similar to other designated industrial areas."
"Due to the lack of regularization, businesses in these sectors were unable to secure employment-related loans from banks or receive assistance from government departments," he added.
"Additionally, obtaining licenses related to employment from relevant departments has become challenging. CM Arvind Kejriwal had promised these businesses that these sectors would be regulated similarly to other industrial areas in Delhi. In this context, the Ministry of Industries in Delhi had been actively working towards finding a solution through meetings with the concerned business representatives. Soon, these industrial sectors would be included in the list of regulated industrial areas," The Industries Minister added.
During the meeting, business representatives expressed their grievances to Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, stating that the term 'Non-Conforming Industrial Area,' referring to unregulated industrial areas, was disrespectful. They conveyed that using such terminology led to a sense of insult among business owners and resulted in difficulties in dealing with various departments and facing challenges in employment.
The Delhi Industries Minister promptly acknowledged the request, directing the concerned officials present in the meeting to refrain from using the term 'Non-Conforming Industrial Area' and instead use the suggested term 'Unplanned Industrial Area' to respect the dignity of the businesses. All business representatives present in the meeting expressed sincere gratitude to Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The Delhi Industries Minister highlighted that there are approximately 27,000 factories in these 27 unregulated industrial sectors, employing lakhs of workers. He pointed out that the issues faced were not just detrimental to the factory owners but also posed challenges for the impoverished labourers working in these factories.
When business organizations associated with these industrial sectors brought their concerns to the attention of Delhi's popular CM Arvind Kejriwal, he pledged to address their problems.
Minister Bharadwaj commended the businesses present in the meeting for completing all the necessary formalities, as informed during the discussions. He expressed optimism that, with the continued cooperation, the regularization process of these 27 unregulated industrial sectors in Delhi could be completed swiftly.
During the meeting, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj directed the officials of DSIDC (Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation) and the Industrial Department to expedite the tender process related to the matter. He also instructed them to keep the stakeholders informed about the progress of the work once the tender process is completed. (ANI)
