New Delhi [India] August 22 (ANI): Delhi Minister Atishi on Thursday issued Show Cause Notices to the Director and Secretary of the Information and Publicity Department for issuing an Independence Day advertisement with the photo of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
In the Show Cause notice, AAP leader Atishi alleged that On August 15, the Information and Publicity department, without the approval of the minister-in-charge-issued a half-page newspaper advertisement without the photo of CM of Arvind Kejriwal.
The notice reads, "Despite the written directions dated 14.08.2024 and the express approval to the creatives and the media plan bearing a full-page advertisement with the photo of the CM, the DIP, under your authority, and without the approval of the Minister-in-charge had proceeded to release a half-page advertisement without the photo of the CM on 15.08.2024, in complete violation of the directions of the Minister-in-charge which amounts to wilful disobedience and gross insubordination."
The notice further reads, "the fact that the advertisements and creatives that were released and published did not receive the necessary approval from the Minister in charge, the entire process stands compromised and is rendered procedurally invalid;"
The Notice further mentions the action to deduct the cost of the advertisements from the salary of the Director and Secretary of the Information and Publicity Department.
"Notice is served upon to show cause as to why the action should not be initiated against you and why should the cost of the media plan and advertisement which were published without the approval of the Minister in charge not be recovered from your salary, within a period of 03 days of receipt of this notice," the notice said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Delhi Minister Atishi wrote to the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on the issue of severe waterlogging under the Zakhira underpass in Delhi.
In her letter, Atishi wrote "I would like to draw your kind attention towards the serious issue of waterlogging under Zahira underpass in Delhi. I have been informed that the main cause of this waterlogging is due to non-channelization of water coming from the area belonging to Indian Railways as there is no drain culvert to channel the water to the nearby MCD drain/Najafgarh drain."
