New Delhi [India], July 21 (ANI): Delhi LG VK Saxena has issued directions for a "complete revamp" of the hospital run by the Indian Red Cross Society in the Seemapuri area, opposite Dilshad Garden Metro Station in East Delhi.
A deadline of six months was given to the accompanying officials for achieving a total facelift of the hospital, which lacked modern equipment and was marred by manpower shortage.
Saxena asked the senior doctors and concerned officials present on the spot during his inspection to expeditiously prepare a roadmap for developing the facilities in the hospital, which was functioning with skeletal staff and doctors, in the absence of a Medical officer for the past six months.
He specifically directed that a thorough assessment be made about the requirements of doctors, staff, equipment, and facilities that are required to be made available in the hospitals according to the guidelines of the central government.
The LG also visited and inspected the building provided by the DDA to the Red Cross Society in Dilshad Garden, which was in a dilapidated condition and was lying unused for years. Saxena expressed dissatisfaction over the status of the building and instructed officials to devise a revamping and restoration plan.
He also stopped at the Henry Dunant Public School in D-Block run by the Red Cross Society and assured the staff and management of full cooperation in upgrading the facilities with smart boards and other amenities. The school at present is imparting education to students from economically weaker sections from Nursery to Class 8.
The LG also inspected the main office of the Delhi Chapter of the Indian Red Cross Society at Golf Links. He directed that the iconic building dedicated to society in 1962 be renovated without disturbing its architectural aesthetics within a deadline of two months.
He suggested developing a training center for nurses and other clinical staff at the main office, which has ample space.
The LG said modalities for fund requirements for all the projects have to be worked out by strictly adhering to the rules and regulations of the Indian Red Cross Society.
