New Delhi [India], May 22 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has recently directed Delhi police to decide former MLA Rambeer Shokeen's representation seeking round-the-clock security within four weeks.
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma directed the concerned DCP to decide on the representation within four weeks.
"The DCP concerned will treat the present petition as representation on behalf of the
petitioner and may decide the same within four weeks under intimation to the petitioner, in accordance with law," Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said in the order passed on May 17.
The order was uploaded on Tuesday evening.
Former MLA Shokeen had filed a representation before the Commissioner of Police, Delhi on March 29, 2024.
Thereafter he moved to Delhi High Court. He filed a petition through advocate Vijay Dalal seeking an order directing Delhi police to provide round-the-clock armed security personnel for his security.
The petitioner has prayed for the protection of his life as he is apprehending threat perception, the High Court has directed him to provide his mobile number to the Investigating Officer and SHO.
Similarly, the mobile numbers of the concerned IO, SHO, and beat constable are also shared with the petitioner, it added.
The High Court also directed the officials of the concerned Police Station including SHO to act as per law, in case any complaint is received on behalf of the petitioner. (ANI)
