New Delhi [India], July 16 (ANI): A gym trainer identified as Vishal Kumar has been arrested, and two semi-automatic pistols and 25 live cartridges recovered from his possession, police said.
Notably, a team of the Crime Branch has been tasked with arresting people who are involved in illegal activities in Delhi and the NCR.
Secret information was received regarding a criminal, namely Vishal, a resident of Jahangir Puri, Delhi, who would come near Mother Dairy in Delhi's Jahangir. He used to carry a weapon with himself to establish his supremacy amongst the criminals involved in organised crime, i.e., gambling, etc., in the area.
Thereupon, a team laid a trap and apprehended accused Vishal Kumar from near Mother Dairy, where he used to visit.
While conducting sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he wanted to establish his supremacy in gambling in the area, and that was the reason behind carrying firearms so as to deal with any scuffle with the persons involved in these types of organised crime.
He further disclosed that one pistol and some live cartridges were kept by him in his house. Thereafter, the team conducted a raid at his house in the national capital, and one pistol with 22 live cartridges was recovered from his house. Accordingly, the above-mentioned case was registered and further investigation of the case is in progress.
A case under the 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS Crime Branch, has been registered against him.
More details on the matter are awaited. (ANI)
