New Delhi [India], May 6 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday held a meeting on pollution and said that the government is continuously holding meetings and working in every direction to reduce pollution in the national capital.
CM Rekha Gupta said that the preparations have been made to bring 1000 water sprinkler vehicles to the national capital.
"Today's meeting had a detailed discussion on how Delhi's air pollution level can be reduced further. The government is continuously holding meetings and working in every direction. Preparations have been made to bring 1000 water sprinkler vehicles to Delhi. No corner will be left out. It will be necessary to install water sprinklers in all high-rise buildings so that pollution is reduced, and it is necessary to install water sprinklers at construction sites...we want Delhiites to avoid pollution and we are working on it," Delhi CM told reporters.
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the government has proposed a plan for 2025-26 to tackle pollution here.
"That plan will be put forward to the public too... Several measures will be taken for this... The vehicle owners will also be pre-informed about the things... and soon things will be applied," Singh said.
Earlier May 1, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage-I in Delhi-NCR with immediate effect after the national capital's Air Quality Index (AQI) improved to the 'Moderate' category.
The decision was taken on the basis of the daily average AQI provided by the Central Pollution Control Board, the CAQM said in a statement.
"Owing to strong winds and favourable meteorological conditions, the AQI of Delhi has shown improvement and has been recorded as 184 for May 1 (Moderate category). Further, the forecast by IMD/IITM also predicts AQI to remain in 'Moderate' category in coming days," the order stated. (ANI)
