Delhi: Exchange of fire takes place between police and notorious criminal

New Delhi [India], May 29 (ANI): An exchange of fire took place between a team of special cell and notorious robber Rohtash on Tuesday near Gali Mandi underpass.

New Delhi [India], May 29 (ANI): An exchange of fire took place between a team of special cell and notorious robber Rohtash on Tuesday near Gali Mandi underpass.
"On 28/05/2009, an exchange of fire took place near Gali Mandu underpass near Khajuri flyover at about 11 PM between the team of Special Cell and a notorious robber namely Rohtash," police said in a statement.
According to police, the bullet fired by Rohtash hit the bulletproof jacket worn by Constable Gaurav.
Rohtash is said to be involved in the dacoity of Muthoot Finance and Sunlight Colony robbery apart from other cases of robbery.
"A case under section 186, 353, 307 of the Indian Penal Code and under section 25, 27 of the Arms Act was registered at Police Station, Special Cell Lodhi," police said.
Further investigation is going on. (ANI)
