Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], October 4 (ANI): Union Minister Amit Shah slammed Congress following the 5,600 crore drug seizure in Delhi and claimed that the main accused of the racket is Delhi Congress's RTI cell head.
Amit Shah was speaking at Gandhinagar on Friday when he said, "Modi govt seized drugs worth Rs 27,600 crores in the past 10 years...Congress govt also used to seize drugs but why is there a huge difference? The difference is, the day before yesterday when drugs were seized (in Delhi), the main accused Tushar Goyal turned out to be the Delhi Congress's RTI cell head. When a party has its senior leader involved in drug peddling, how can they make the country drug-free?..."
Further in a post in Hindi on his official 'X' handle, the Home Minister claimed that while the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi "is committed to a zero-tolerance policy on drugs" and "is working to guide the youth towards education, sports, and innovation," the Congress is allegedly "using its political influence to enable drug trafficking."
"Everyone has seen the plight of youth in Punjab, Haryana and entire North India due to drugs during the rule of Congress. While the Modi government is taking the youth towards sports, education and innovation, the Congress wants to take them into the dark world of drugs," read the post.
"The sin of Congress leaders of using their political influence to push the youth into the quagmire of drugs will never be allowed to be fulfilled by the Modi government. Our government is determined to make India a 'drug-free country' by destroying the entire drug network, without looking at the political position or stature of the drug dealers," added Amit Shah in his post.
