New Delhi [India], October 4 (ANI): BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia launched a scathing attack on Congress over the alleged involvement of its leader in a massive Rs 5,600 crore drug consignment recently seized in Delhi, saying Congress, which was known for corruption until so far, is now known for cocaine.
"In a press conference yesterday, the BJP talked about the drug consignment which was caught due to the promptness of the administration and the police. The people of Haryana are surprised and angry because what kind of Congress is this? We all know C for Corrupt Congress, C for Confused Congress, but now C for Cocaine Congress is a matter of concern," said Bhatia while addressing a press conference.
He said that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused on youth development through education, innovation, and employment, the Congress party is becoming known for its involvement in the drug trade.
"This is the commitment of the BJP, that no matter how much the Cocaine Congress wants, we will not let the youth of the country get addicted to drugs. The youth of the country are getting employment from the BJP," he further said.
Bhatia said, "This is a fight of ideologies. PM Modi is saying that the youth will play, get education, and there will be innovation. Employment opportunities have been created in India, and jobs will be available. However, on the other side, there is the Congress party, which was known for corruption--C for corruption is now known as C for cocaine."
He questioned the silence of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Vadra Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Bhupinder Hooda, saying, "What kind of intoxication is this? Is it an addiction to power? Do you think that you will play with the lives of the youth of Haryana and India, and the public will remain silent? This is not going to happen."
Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed the Congress party over the alleged involvement of a Congress leader in Rs 5,600 crore drug consignment case.
Taking to X, Amit Shah wrote: "While on one hand, the Modi Government is adopting a zero-tolerance policy for 'Drug Free India', the involvement of a prominent Congress leader in the Rs 5,600 crore drug consignment seized from North India is extremely dangerous and shameful."
He further accused the Congress party of trying to take the youth into the 'dark world of drugs', assuring that the Congress leader's use of their political influence to push the youth into the quagmire of drugs will never be allowed to be fulfilled by Modi.
According to police, Tushar Goyal, who was reportedly an office bearer of the Congress Party, is the mastermind and main accused in this case. Additional CP Kushwaha said that 15 kg of cocaine was recovered from the personal possession of the accused Tushar Goyal, Himanshu and Aurangzeb, while the remaining marijuana and cocaine were found in the godown.
Tushar Goyal himself revealed during the Special Cell's interrogation that he had been the head of the Delhi Congress' RTI Cell for a brief period, according to the Police, .
The seizure links have also been found connected to Dubai, police said. Delhi police said that the name of a big businessman from Dubai, who is a major supplier of cocaine, came up during the Special Cell's investigation. (ANI)
