Delhi court to take cognizance of chargesheet against Hafiz Saeed

New Delhi [India], January 18 (ANI): A Delhi Court will on January 30 take cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, 11 Kashmiri separatist leaders and businessmen in a case of alleged funding of terror activities in the Valley.

New Delhi [India], January 18 (ANI): A Delhi Court will on January 30 take cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, 11 Kashmiri separatist leaders and businessmen in a case of alleged funding of terror activities in the Valley.

The court also fixed February 1 as the date of the hearing on another accused Kamran Yusuf in the same case.

The NIA, earlier in the day, filed a chargesheet in the NIA special court against them under sections 120B, 121, 121A and 124A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39 and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

The names of Syed Salahuddin, Aftab Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Akbar Khanday, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Zahoor Watali, Kamran Yusuf, Javed Ahmed Bhat have been listed in the chargesheet.

The NIA registered a case in May 2017 and conducted search operations at over 60 locations.

It has so far recovered around 950 incriminating documents in this connection. (ANI)
