Delhi Cabinet approves expansion of three hospitals

New Delhi [India], March 6 (ANI): The Delhi Cabinet on Wednesday in a meeting chaired by state Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal approved three important health infrastructural projects in the national capital.

New Delhi [India], March 6 (ANI): The Delhi Cabinet on Wednesday approved the expansion of three hospitals in the national capital.
Among them was the inclusion of 460 additional beds for Mother & Child Block at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital (LBS) in Khichripur along with similar infrastructure facilities at an estimated cost of 1,43,72,95,900.
The aim of the project is to enhance mother and child care facilities in East Delhi and adjoining area of Khichripur, in order to cater to a large number of patients. 
Presently LBS Hospital consists of 105 sanctioned beds and after completion of the above project, the bed capacity of the hospital will be enhanced to 565 beds.
As per the requirement of medical facilities, there is a need for proper facilities for post delivery care and treatment. There is also provision for the caesarean section deliveries and indoor admissions, the Cabinet state.
The other project is ‘Addition & Remodelling of Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital at Narela’.
For this proposal, the Delhi Cabinet has sanctioned Rs 244,34,53,000, along with an addition of 'Cancer Block and Independent Block of Maternity and Trauma Cases'.
The aim of the project is to convert the existing Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital at Narela, into a hospital with modifications/ re-modelling as per the specific needs and the additional development of an ultra-modern and comprehensive 773-bedded. Among them, 513 beds will be allocated for cancer patients. Another proposal is to provide a 260 bedded maternity and trauma facility.
The last one is ‘Expansion and Remodelling of Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital at Shastri Park’. For this, the Cabinet has sanctioned of Rs. 1,89,76,70,639.
Presently, Jag Parvesh Chandra Hospital consists of 339 sanctioned beds and after completion of the above project, the bed capacity of the hospital will be enhanced to 560 beds.
The Delhi government has also proposed the construction of one more storey in the existing building using a pre-engineered building model. (ANI)
