New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for reinstating the land property mutation in Delhi villages.
Addressing a joint press conference with MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Sachdeva thanked the Delhi LG for the reinstatement of the land property mutation, which had been stalled for the past eight years.
On Tuesday, the LG announced that the mutation of agricultural land in urbanised villages in Delhi based on inheritance would be conducted by the revenue authorities, as it used to be done earlier in the past.
Sachdeva stated that the land property mutation has been one of the biggest issues for rural Delhi but the Kejriwal government "disregarded" the issue despite continuous demands from the rural residents in the last 10 years.
Sachdeva further mentioned that due to the intervention and efforts of the LG, Rs 962 crore that had been lying idle in the Delhi government's coffers will now be spent on the development of rural Delhi under the Gram Uday Yojana.
Speaking on the same, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri added that Rs 1500 crore has been lying in the Delhi government's accounts for the development of urbanised villages, and this amount should be spent on the development of these areas.
According to Bidhuri, the AAP government in 2017 changed the rules, which prohibited the transfer of land to the son or daughter in rural Delhi in case of a farmer's death and since then, all BJP MPs have raised this issue with the LG along with the BJP MLAs consistently raising the same in the Assembly.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor was also present at the press conference. (ANI)
