Delhi BJP slams AAP for unpreparedness ahead of Kanwariyas' arrival

Alleging the mismanagement of the Kanwar Yatra he said, "The arrangements for Kanwar camps would have started a month earlier but due to the arbitrariness of the Aam Aadmi Party, the month of Shravan has started but till now tents have not been installed in most of the Kanwar camps. If tents are being installed then there is no electricity connection. Government assistance has now reached barely a hundred camp organisers.

New Delhi [India], July 24 (ANI): Delhi Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) President Virendra Sachdeva has expressed disappointment over the lack of preparedness to welcome the large number of Kanwariyas arriving in the city starting tomorrow.
"It is regrettable that despite the Kanwariyas arriving in large numbers from tomorrow, Delhi is still not ready to welcome them," said Sachdeva.
Sachdeva criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for turning the Kanwar arrangements into a political battleground.
"This Shravan brings the last Kanwar service festival before the Delhi Assembly elections, but AAP ministers and legislators have turned the Kanwar arrangements into a political arena instead of a service opportunity," he remarked.
He highlighted the delay in setting up the Kanwar camps, stating that preparations should have started a month ago.
"Due to the AAP's arbitrary actions, most Kanwar camps are still not ready, with many lacking tents and electricity connections. Government assistance has reached barely 100 camp organizers," Sachdeva pointed out.
Sachdeva further criticised the Delhi government's lack of seriousness regarding the Kanwar arrangements, noting that Revenue Minister Atishi began inspecting camps only after the first batch of long-distance Kanwariyas arrived.
"The negligence and corruption of the Kejriwal government have left even large camps like the ISBT Kashmiri Gate unprepared, let alone smaller colony-level camps," he added.
He challenged Minister Atishi's claims about the preparedness of 185 camps.
"We challenge her to visit these camps with us and the media; over 150 of the claimed 185 camps are still not ready," Sachdeva stated.
Sachdeva concluded by accusing AAP legislators of misappropriating government assistance meant for the Kanwar camps.
"There is significant mismanagement in the government assistance for the Kanwar camps, with AAP legislators involved in its misuse. Religious organisations are being pressured to politically support AAP in exchange for assistance, which is why only a quarter of the camps, both government and private, are ready by this evening," he said.
