Delhi: 3 held after manual scavenger drowns in sewer

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday interacted with sanitation workers, police personnel, and other staff contributing to the smooth conduct of the Assembly session during his morning walk at Bhararisain in Chamoli.

Union Minister of Jal Shakti, CR Paatil, marked the Shubharambh of Jal Mahotsav 2026, a nationwide campaign of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), from Village Rahej in Gandevi Block of Navsari district, Gujarat.

"First of all, I would like to thank our National President, Mallikarjun Kharge ji and Rahul Gandhi ji for giving preference to a worker from the organisation. Anurag Sharma has come through the ranks of NSUI, Youth Congress and the Seva Dal. He has served the party in different organisational roles and was currently the president of the Kangra District Congress Committee," Kumar said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress leadership, alleging that members of the Gandhi-Vadra family attempted to extort Rs 7 crore from a party worker during the Haryana Assembly elections, and claimed that purported WhatsApp chats have brought "prima facie evidence" of corruption into the public domain.

This fatal incident occurred on Monday during the course of the cleaning operations of the sewage line.
