Delhi: 2 dead, 6 injured after mud from under-construction building slides in Okhla

Two people were killed and six were injured after mud from an under-construction building slid in Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area, an official said.

New Delhi [India], August 25 (ANI): Two people were killed and six were injured after mud from an under-construction building slid in Delhi’s Okhla Industrial Area, an official said. 
DCP (Southeast) Rajesh Deo while speaking to ANI informed, "A basement was being dug here, and labourers were working here. The soil gave in, and 7-8 people got buried, two of whom died; three others were injured; and three others have been discharged. We are verifying if they had any documents and how the digging was being done. We will give you more details after verification." 
According to the police official, a PCR call was received at the Okhla Industrial Area police station regarding the collapse of one side/under-construction building site, A 98/3, Sanjay Colony, Okhla Industrial Area Phase 2, New Delhi.
This is an industrial plot in which construction activity was going on and a basement was being constructed, and in the process, an excavation about 20 feet deep has been done that slid today, they said. 
In the evening, the mud slided, due to which a total of 8 persons got injured, and all injured persons have been shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where two of them, namely Raman (18 years old) and Mintu (50 years old), succumbed to injuries, and both of them were declared brought dead. 
Further, six persons were injured; three out of these, namely Gulshan (28 years), Devender (33 years), and Nitish (23 years), are under treatment in the Red Zone at AIIMS Trauma Centre.
While the other three persons, namely Arun (22 years old), Nirmal (23 years old), and Jaldhar (50 years old), received minor injuries in the incident.
Documents of the building, including construction permission, are being verified, and a case under Section 288/304 A is being registered in this incident.
Further investigation is underway. (ANI)
