Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 5 (ANI): Arun Gupta, District President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Udhampur said that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's statement over the Hindu community is baseless and deeply hurtful to the sentiments of the Hindus across India.
Gupta told ANI, "We are deeply troubled by the remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament. His assertion that those who claim to be Hindus are responsible for spreading violence, lies, and hatred in the country is not only baseless but also deeply hurtful to the sentiments of the Hindu community across India."
Gupta emphasized the importance of unity and the need to avoid painting any community with a broad brush of negativity.
"It is absolutely unacceptable to associate an entire community with acts of violence and the creation of hatred. This divisive agenda of the Congress has to be exposed and opposed. We want the feeling of love to remain in the society. The aim of Congress through such statements is to create distrust among the people. They tried to instigate people in the name of caste during the elections and Congress has an old agenda on religion too," Arun Gupta added.
The BJP leader insisted that such generalizations have no place in a diverse and democratic society like India.
In the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP-led government and alleged there has been "a systematic attack" on the idea of India.
"There has been a systematic and full-scale assault on the idea of India, the Constitution and the people who resisted the attack on the Constitution. Many of us were personally attacked. Some of the leaders are still in jail. Anyone who resisted the idea of concentration of power and wealth, aggression on poor and Dalits and minorities was crushed. I was attacked by the order of the Government of India, by the order of the Prime Minister of India. The most enjoyable part of it was the 55 hours of interrogation by ED," he alleged.
He also teamed the Hindu symbol 'Abhayamudra' which gestures fearlessness, reassurance and safety, as the symbol of the Congress party.
"Abhayamudra is the symbol of Congress. The Abhayamudra is the gesture of fearlessness, is the gesture of reassurance and safety, which dispels fear and accords divine protection and bliss in Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism and other Indian religions. All our great men have spoken about non-violence and finishing fear. But, those who call themselves Hindu only talk about violence, hatred, and untruth. Aap Hindu ho hi nahi," the Congress leader said. (ANI)
