New Delhi [India], September 22 (ANI): Delhi L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday shared details of the ongoing beautification works in the national capital and said that several places are being developed where Delhiites will be able to sit and enjoy their evenings.
Saxena said that 28 acres of land reclaimed by DDA in Basera area of the city is being developed and the project includes a convention hall.
"We're developing the places where people of Delhi can come and sit with family and spend their evenings. Very soon, through DDA, we will inaugurate those places. One year ago, Basera was a place where C&D wastes were dumped but this 28 acres of land was reclaimed...DDA prepared this place in 6-7 months, a convention hall is also being developed here where even summits can take place," said Vinai Kumar Saxena.
Apart from that VK Saxena launched the Vigilance Complaint Information Management System (VCIMS) portal, which is believed to be conducive to speedy action in dealing with and monitoring complaints on corruption, an official statement said on Thursday.
"VCIMS will enable the common man to file vigilance complaints at any time from anywhere against an employee of Delhi Government, MCD, NDMC, DDA, Delhi Police and other Autonomous Organizations and Institutions of Delhi Government and also deter vexatious complaints by the blackmailers", LG Saxena said during the launch event.
The Lieutenant Governor added, "This first-of-its-kind initiative in the country. It will prove to be an effective tool to achieve the goal of zero tolerance for corruption by ensuring a faceless interface between the Government and the general public, who avail government service".
As per an official statement, the anti-corruption online portal will help in speedy action in dealing with and monitoring complaints on corruption with transparency and secrecy.
Now the complaints against corruption received in physical form will not be taken cognizance of, it added.
It is worth mentioning that the move comes following the LG's intervention seeking review and disposal of corruption complaints witnessed by the national capital in recent times. (ANI)
