Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], April 29 (ANI): The members of the Bohra community expressed admiration and praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing his transformative leadership and development initiatives.
Lauding PM Modi's decisiveness and leadership prowess, Aziz Kampwala, Secretary of the Dawoodi Bohra Samaj said, "In comparison to him, there is no national leader right now. He is a decision-maker, a good leader, and will definitely take the nation to greater heights."
Echoing similar sentiments, Zabeen Sorangwala, a prominent figure within the Alavi Bohra community, emphasized on the remarkable changes witnessed under PM Modi's tenure, particularly in Gujarat.
"Earlier the atmosphere was entirely different. The Bohra community members did not want to connect with BJP, but since PM Modi took over in Gujarat, the way he handles everything, whether it be development of roads or businesses, everything became better since Modi became CM here," Sorangwala stated.
She further highlighted the improvements in infrastructure and the flourishing startup ecosystem as evidence of Modi's effective governance.
"Earlier there were no opportunities and only ancestral businesses used to run, but now we can see how many startups are being created. Other than that, the industrial areas have flourished. Apart from this, the security of women in the state has been uplifted," she added.
The economically influential Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community have been praising PM Modi's developmental policies, in Gujarat as well as nationally.
The Dawoodi Bohra Muslim population in India numbers in the lakhs, with a significant presence in Gujarat, where they play a vital role. Approximately 18,000 Bohra Muslims reside in Vadodara alone, out of a total Muslim population of around 2.5 million in the state. The Dawoodi Bohra community, known for its business acumen, consists of three factions - Alvi, Sulaimani, and Dawoodi Bohras.
PM Modi, who served as Gujarat's Chief Minister for three terms before becoming Prime Minister, has expressed gratitude to the community for their support during his tenure.

Prime Minister in the Dawoodi Bohra Institute inaugural event in Mumbai held last year said that he is a family member of the Bohra community, as he has been connected to them for four generations.
The Bohras arrived in India in the 11th century and settled in Gujarat in 1539, with the term "Bohra" derived from the Gujarati word "voharu," meaning "to trade."
Dawoodi Bohras constitute 10 per cent of the country's total Muslim population, primarily concentrated in Gujarat and Maharashtra. They have a presence in major cities such as Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, among others. (ANI)
