Dates for filing GST returns extended for Andhra, TN districts

New Delhi (India), Nov 28 (ANI): The Central government has extended the due dates for filing Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns for Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district and 11 districts of Tamil Nadu in view of cyclonic storms-Titli and Gaja in the two states respectively.

GST return filing date in Andhra and Tamil Nadu

New Delhi (India), Nov 28 (ANI): The Central government has extended the due dates for filing Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns for Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district and 11 districts of Tamil Nadu in view of cyclonic storms-Titli and Gaja in the two states respectively.
"In view of the disturbances caused to daily life by Cyclone Titli in the district of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, and by Cyclone Gaza in 11 districts of Tamil Nadu, the competent authority has decided to extend the due dates for filing various GST returns," wrote the Union Ministry of Finance on its official Twitter handle.
The due date for filing the GST returns has been extended in these 11 districts of Tamil Nadu--Cuddalore, Thiruvarur, Puddukottai, Dindigul, Nagapattinam, Theni, Thanjavur, Sivagangai, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, and Ramanathapuram.
Taxpayers whose principal place of business is in the district of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh can now file their GST return (GSTR-3B) for the month of September and October by November 30. While taxpayers whose principal place of business is in 11 specified districts of Tamil Nadu can file GST return (GSTR-3B) for the month of October till December 20. While all taxpayers can file the return (Form GSTR-7) for months October to December till January 31 next year.
Cyclone Gaja had crossed the Tamil Nadu coast between Nagapattinam and Vedaranyam on November 16, claiming over 46 lives and leaving behind a trail of destruction, severely affecting the farming, fishing and power sectors. Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Pudukottai districts had suffered the worst damage. Cyclone Titli wreaked havoc majorly in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. (ANI)
