ED has accused former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh of using “bogus entries” to illegally transfer the money.

New Delhi [India], Feb 6 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to stay trial court order to frame charges against former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh in the disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The court has sought the CBI’s response on a petition filed by Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh challenging the framing of charges by the trial court against them for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 10 crore.
The next date of hearing is scheduled for April 16.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that the former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Singh used “bogus entries” to illegally transfer the money.
The investigative agency filed a case based on the CBI’s first information report, which accused Singh and his kin of accumulating assets while he was serving as the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises under the UPA government in 2011.
As per the ED, the assets were purchased in the name of Singh’s close family members and were found to be disproportionate to his known sources of income. (ANI)
