Cyber crime: Delhi Police submits action plan to court

New Delhi [India], Oct 13 (ANI): The Delhi Police on Saturday submitted a detailed report to the Delhi High Court pertaining to its new action plan on cyber crime investigation.

New Delhi [India], Oct 13 (ANI): The Delhi Police on Saturday submitted a detailed report to the Delhi High Court pertaining to its new action plan on cyber crime investigation.
Appearing for the Delhi Police, advocate Rahul Mehra said that every district will have cyber crime teams who will be fully geared up with technical competence to tackle cyber crime cases, analyse electronic evidences, etc.
According to the new plan, the police will collect CCTV records within 48 hours of registration of an FIR and call details of all relevant numbers within one month.
A cyber training division will also be set up in the police training college to conduct short duration training programmes. This training will be a mandatory module in the basic foundation training of fresh recruits of all ranks (Constable, Sub-Inspector, Assistant Commissioner of Police).
The advocate further informed the High Court that criteria will also be laid down for the posting of an officer in a police station. Officers will also be sent to the training college on a regular basis for specialised training. The District police and field units will also be directed to regularly conduct a refresher course for their officers.
The Delhi Police will also conduct several workshops and safety awareness campaign on cyber crimes in schools, colleges, offices, markets, resident welfare associations (RWAs) regularly. (ANI)
