"Crime against women, children declines due to our Zero Tolerance Policy": MP CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], March 3 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in a state-level workshop organised by the state Child Rights Protection Commission at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium (Minto Hall) in Bhopal on Monday and highlighted the state government's commitment to security, empowerment, and justice, which has effectively curbed criminal activities.
"Crimes against women and children have declined significantly, which is a direct result of the state government's 'Zero Tolerance' policy. Over the past years, the government's strict stance against crimes against women and children has been evident. The state has implemented the death penalty for perpetrators of serious crimes against women and children, and courts have already awarded capital punishment in 48 cases," CM Yadav said.
The Chief Minister urged both the government and society to work together in raising awareness against atrocities faced by women and children. He also highlighted the crucial role of the Child Rights Protection Commission in this initiative and assured that the government is committed to implementing the commission's recommendations.
The workshop brought together officials from various departments across all districts of the state, along with members of the Child Welfare Committee. They engaged in discussions on key legislations, including the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act (2009), the POCSO Act (2012), and the Juvenile Justice Act (2015).
CM Yadav also stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is progressing towards its golden era. India's global reputation is rising, and as the world's largest democracy, every citizen is becoming increasingly empowered. He added that India is not only capable of countering external threats but is also effectively addressing internal challenges.
Referring to an episode from the Ramayana, the CM spoke about the immense potential and energy present in children and youth. He mentioned how Maharishi Vishwamitra requested King Dasharatha to send young Lord Ram and Lakshman to destroy demons. Lord Ram, with his valor, eliminated the demons. The childhood narratives of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna serve as inspiration for society to follow the path of righteousness. (ANI)
