"Credit for PM Janman Yojana goes to President Murmu," says PM Modi in Bihar's Jamui

Addressing the rally in Jamui, PM Modi said, "I consider it a good fortune not only for the BJP but also for the NDA that we got the opportunity to make Droupadi Murmu the President of the country. She is the first tribal President of the country. I remember when NDA decided to make Droupadi Murmu the President, our Nitish Babu had appealed to the people of the entire country that Droupadi Murmu should be made the President by a huge margin. The credit for the PM Janman Yojana under which many works have started today also goes to President Droupadi Murmu."

Jamui (Bihar) [India], November 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that it was the BJP's fortune to make Droupadi Murmu, the first tribal President of India. He credited President Murmu for the initiation of "PM Janman Yojana," saying that she frequently discussed about the most backward tribal population and today under the scheme, tribal families have got 'pakke-ghar', water and better road connectivity.
Addressing a rally in Jamui, the Prime Minister said, "I consider it a good fortune not only for the BJP but also for the NDA that we got the opportunity to make Droupadi Murmu the President of the country. She is the first tribal President of the country. I remember when NDA decided to make Droupadi Murmu the President, our Nitish Babu had appealed to the people of the entire country that Droupadi Murmu should be made the President by a huge margin. The credit for the PM Janman Yojana under which many works have started today also goes to President Droupadi Murmu."
PM Modi emphasised that the PM Janman Yojana worth Rs 24,000 crores, assured development in the villages of most backward tribal families, as it gave them 'pakke-ghar', water through 'Har Ghar Nal Yojana' and infrastructure work which is in progress to connect their villages to other major areas.
"When she was the Governor of Jharkhand and became President, she frequently discussed about the most-backward tribal population. The previous governments did not care about these very backward tribal communities. The PM Janman Yojana worth Rs 24,000 crore was started to reduce the difficulties in their lives. Development is these communities are assured through this scheme. Today, this scheme is completing one year. During this one year, we have 'pakke-ghar' to thousands of most backward tribal families. The infrastructure work is in progress to connect their villages with other major areas of the district. In their villages, every house is getting water through 'Har Ghar Nal Yojana'. The one was asked by none of the governments, I worship them," he said.
Counting the number of museums and tribal research centres opened during his regime, the Prime Minister further said that the BJP-led NDA central government has taken several steps to preserve tribal heritage.
"Our government has also taken many steps to preserve tribal heritage. Many people dedicated to tribal art and culture have been honoured with Padma Awards. We started a huge museum in the name of Lord Birsa Munda in Ranchi...Today, two tribal research centres have also been inaugurated in Srinagar and Sikkim... The NDA government has established the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa in Leh, The North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research in Arunachal Pradesh has been updated. WHO's Global Centre for Traditional Medicine is also being built in India. This will also help the traditional medicine system of the Indian tribal reach the country and the world..."
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Bihar's Jamui on the occasion of 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas' and paid tribute to tribal leader 'Bhagwan Birsa Munda', marking the commencement of his 150th birth anniversary celebrations.
He unveiled development projects highlighting the government's commitment to tribal welfare with plans to improve infrastructure, provide training, and create employment opportunities for youth, all aimed at the holistic development of tribal communities.
Prime Minister unveiled development projects worth Rs 6,640 crore on the occasion of the commencement of the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
He also released a commemorative coin and postage stamp at the event.
Birsa Munda, the hero of the Indian tribal freedom struggle, played a pivotal role in inspiring the tribal community of the Chotanagpur region to fight for their independence. He led the armed revolution known as "Ulgulan" (the rebellion) against British rule. (ANI)
