Court frames charges against Daati Maharaj, two others in 2018 rape case

The Saket District court on Friday framed charges against Madan Rajasthani alias Dati Maharaj in a rape case of 2018. Other 2 accused have also been charged in this case. The court has directed to start trial against the three.

New Delhi [India], September 21 (ANI): The Saket District Court on Friday framed charges against Madan Rajasthani alias Daati Maharaj in a rape case of 2018.
Other 2 accused have also been charged in this case. The court has directed to start trial against the three.
This case was registered on the complaint filed by one of his disciples. Special Fast track court Judge Neha framed charges against Madan Rajasthani and his two brothers, Ashok and Arjun.
The court has discharged one accused, namely Anil. Madan Rajasthani and other accused denied charges framed against him and claimed trial.
Thereafter, the court listed the matter for recording of prosecution evidence from October 18. Initially, the FIR was registered at Fatehpur Beri police station. The investigation later on was transferred to the crime branch of Delhi police.
A case was registered under sections 376, 377, 506 etc. IPC against Daati Maharaj and others. Later on, the Delhi High Court, after hearing a petition by the complainant, transferred the investigation to the CBI.
Delhi police had filed a charge sheet. Later on, CBI had also filed a charge sheet. It was alleged in the complaint filed in 2018 that the victim was raped in 2016. She also alleged that she was repeatedly raped at Gurukul Ashwasan in Bal Gram Rajasthan. She had said that she had not filed the complaint earlier as she felt intimidated by the self styled God man.
