COP 29: Gujarat Delegation will be lead by Minister of Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], November 10 (ANI): Gujarat Minister of Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals Kanu bhai Desai along with ACS S J Haider and Jai Prakash Shivahare, MD GUVNL are going to represent the state government at COP 29 from November 11 to 14 in Baku, Azerbaijan, according to Gujarat government press release.

The 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to November 22. This crucial gathering aims to accelerate global efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C through increased climate action, ambitious emissions reduction targets, and strengthened climate finance mechanisms.
The conference will focus on operationalizing the Loss and Damage Fund for vulnerable communities and finalizing elements of the Paris Agreement, such as Article 6 related to carbon market mechanisms. Enhanced Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and post-2025 climate finance goals will be high on the agenda.
