New Delhi [India], January 3 (ANI): In a strong rebuke, BJP national secretary Anil Antony accused members of the INDIA boc, including Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, of attempting to divide India by undermining its civilizational values.
Antony's comments came in response to statements made by the leaders that, he claimed, questioned the fundamental principles of India's unity and its historical ethos.
"It has become a very common trend among all the INDI alliance members, which started with Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, and yesterday Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also made statements constantly deliberating the civilisational values of India," Antony stated, highlighting the growing concerns within the ruling BJP about the rhetoric coming from opposition leaders.
At the core of Antony's criticism was the INDIA bloc handling of country's historical and cultural values. He emphasized that the principles rooted in India's civilizational ethos, particularly those associated with Sanatan values, have been key to the nation's unity.
Citing the success of India's G20 summit last year, Antony argued that the common theme of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which means "the world is one family," is deeply connected to India's traditional civilizational values, including those of Sanatan Dharma.
He also pointed out that Mahatma Gandhi's principle of "Sarva Dharma Sambhava," which advocates equal respect for all religions, was influenced by the same Sanatan ideals.
Antony further stressed that these values have long been a unifying force across the country, helping India to thrive as a diverse and pluralistic society. He accused the INDI alliance of undermining this unity by attempting to sow divisions based on caste and religion.
"Instead of the unifying factor of Sanatan and civilisation values, they are trying to create divisions," he said. (ANI)
