"Conspiracy was being hatched to kill him": Former MLA Bumber Thakur's son after his father was shot at his residence

He revealed that his father had informed the government about some people plotting to kill him and had also taken the names of a few leaders.

Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) [India], March 15 (ANI): Former Congress MLA Bumber Thakur was shot by unidentified assailants at his residence in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur, police said on Friday.
According to Bumber Thakur's son Ishan, at around 3 pm he went to take a bath during which he heard gunshots. As he came out, Ishan's brother told him that someone fired at their father after which he was taken to the hospital by people around him.
"Around 3 pm, I went to take a bath and while bathing, I heard gunshots. When I came out, my brother told me that someone fired at my father. People who were with him at that time, took him to hospital", Ishaan Thakur said to ANI on Saturday.
He revealed that his father had informed the government about some people plotting to kill him and had also taken the names of a few leaders. "A few days ago, through media, my father told the government that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill him...he even took the names of a few leaders...", he added.
Following the attack, Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri expressed concern over the incident, saying that the priority is to ensure the well-being of the former MLA and the other injured persons.
"The attack happened some time ago, and our first priority is Bumber Thakur and his bodyguard. Their health is our main concern, while the investigation is a matter for the police. It has been reported that four people were involved," Agnihotri told ANI.
He further mentioned that it was told to him that 4 people came to the residence of the former leader and shot at him, injuring him and his bodyguard.
"The attack happened some time ago, and our first priority is Bumber Thakur and his bodyguard. Their health is our main concern, while the investigation is a matter for the police. It has been reported that four people were involved," Agnihotri told ANI. (ANI)
