"Conspiracy behind this," alleges Chaitanyananda Saraswati's counsel in molestation case

Speaking to reporters, advocate Manish Gandhi said, "They (Police) produced him before the Court after completing their investigation. They said that they do not need further Police custody...They requested that he be sent to judicial custody. Court allowed that. We filed three applications. Court allowed one of those applications...In the other two applications, we demanded basic needs, for clothes, food, spectacles and medicines. New Delhi [India], October 3 (ANI): After a Delhi court remanded Chaitanyananda Saraswati to 14-day judicial custody in connection with an alleged molestation case, his counsel, advocate Manish Gandhi, said that the police investigation is complete, and they had requested judicial custody.
He also mentioned that they filed applications seeking basic necessities like clothes, food, spectacles, and medicines for Saraswati, which the court has kept pending for further hearing.
Speaking to reporters, advocate Manish Gandhi said, "They (Police) produced him before the Court after completing their investigation. They said that they do not need further Police custody. They requested that he be sent to judicial custody. Court allowed that. We filed three applications. Court allowed one of those applications. In the other two applications, we demanded basic needs, for clothes, food, spectacles and medicines. Court has kept that in pending and the hearing will be taken up at 12.30 pm again tomorrow."
Gandhi alleged that there is a "conspiracy" behind this case.
"We also told the Court that we have no intimation of the seizures made by Police so far. We have requested the Court that copies of the same be provided to us. That too has been kept in pending for tomorrow.I have said this earlier that there is a conspiracy behind this. We have already prepared the documents also. Within a couple of days, you will get all the documents from us," he added.
According to senior advocate Ajay Burman, who is also representing Saraswati in the case said that the accused was forced to remove his sanyasi robes and wear a pant-shirt while in custody, which is against his religious beliefs. Burman requested the court to provide Saraswati with his sanyasi robes, special books, and medicines, as well as a restrictive diet.
Burman also denied allegations of any incriminating chats, stating that "all chats circulating in the media do not exist" and that the FIR does not mention any chats. He termed the allegations as "nonsense" and claimed that the investigation is being misused.
He said, "We moved an application for his asan, special books, he is a sanyasi and needs robes. He was made to remove his sanyasi robes and wear a pant-shirt. He is ill and needs medicines and treatment. So, medicines should be provided to him. He has a restrictive diet. So, application has moved for all of this. Their (Police) investigation is complete and therefore, they have demanded judicial custody. All chats circulating in the media do not exist. All this is nonsense. The FIR too states that there are no chats."

Chaitanyanand Saraswati brought to court after expiry of 5 days police custody in a molestation case. It is alleged that he molested 17 girls in an educational institute in Vasant Kunj area.
Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Animesh Kumar remanded Chaitanyanand Saraswati alias Parthasarthy in judicial custody till October 17.
