Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 18 (ANI): Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra on Thursday alleged that Karnataka has become an ATM for the leaders of the Congress High Command and sought CM Siddaramaiah's resignation following the alleged Karnataka Maharishi Valmiki Corporation Board scam.
"To the leaders of the Congress High Command Karnataka State has become ATM. The money of Valmiki Corporation has been used in other state elections including Bellary elections. It's is our demand that CM Siddaramaiah should resign," said BY Vijayendra.
"Day by day new information is emerging, especially after ED took over the probe. Today, it has come to light that money was utilised for the purchase of liquor in neighbouring states during Lok Sabha elections. Congress govt is trying to divert the issue. BJP is doing a protest on this issue in Freedom Park today," added Vijayendra.
Meanwhile, BJP held a protest against the Karnataka Congress government over the alleged Karnataka Maharishi Valmiki Corporation Board scam and the MUDA's alleged scam in Freedom Park.
The scam pertains to the alleged illegal transfer of funds from the Maharshi Valmiki ST Corporation, which is charged with implementing welfare programmes for scheduled tribe members.
Further, when asked about the Karnataka government taking back draft bill on quota for Kannadigas in private sector, State BJP President BY Vijayendra said, "I don't think CM Siddaramaiah is serious about protecting interests of Kannadigas. They have been so many scams, they are using diversionary tactics. This confusion states that the CM is not serious. I urge CM to take everybody into confidence and bring back the bill." (ANI)
