"Congress troubled by 'Land Jihad' crackdown": Uttarakhand CM

"Congress is having trouble with the action we're taking against land jihad. They seem to like those who engage in land jihad. Congress has disrupted the demography of our Devbhoomi by settling members of a particular community in places where they once had no trace, no existence," CM Dhami said.

Nainital (Uttarakhand) [India], December 12 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Congress, alleging that the party is troubled by the state government's ongoing crackdown on "land jihad".
Speaking at a public event, the Chief Minister accused the Congress of siding with those involved in illegal land encroachments and said the opposition had "disturbed the demography" of Uttarakhand by facilitating the settlement of "a particular community" in areas where they had no historical presence.
"Congress is having trouble with the action we're taking against land jihad. They seem to like those who engage in land jihad. Congress has disrupted the demography of our Devbhoomi by settling members of a particular community in places where they once had no trace, no existence," CM Dhami said.
Reaffirming his government's commitment to removing encroachments, Dhami said the drive would continue without compromise. "I want to assure you all that we will not tolerate this land jihad being carried out in the name of religion in Devbhoomi. We will not rest until we have razed all such structures to the ground. Our campaign will continue," he said.
The Chief Minister further added that the Opposition's discomfort increases whenever the administration acts against illegal occupants. "When we take action against those who illegally occupy our government land by placing green, yellow, and blue cloth, it causes great trouble to the Congress members," CM Dhami said.
Earlier in July, CM Dhami stated that the government has taken strict action against well-planned land jihad in the state and freed more than seven thousand acres of government land from "land jihadis."
The Chief Minister said, "The 'land jihad' mafia was occupying precious government lands in the state by wearing green, blue or yellow cloth without any fear. We have taken strict action against this well-planned land Jihad in the state and freed more than seven thousand acres of government land from land jihadis." (ANI)
