Congress to come out with list of candidates: Jitin Prasad

New Delhi [India], Mar 23 (ANI): Congress leader Jitin Prasada on Saturday said the Congress party will come out with a list of candidates after the party's Central Election Committee, which will clear all the claims of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the constituency he is going to contest for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Congress leader Jitin Prasada talking to ANI

New Delhi [India], Mar 23 (ANI): Congress leader Jitin Prasada on Saturday said the Congress party will come out with a list of candidates after the party's Central Election Committee, which will clear all the claims of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the constituency he is going to contest for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Prasada's remarks come after reports that he was upset with his party as he wanted to be Congress candidate for Lok Sabha elections from Dhaurahra in Uttar Pradesh but was instead asked to contest from Lucknow against BJP leader Rajnath Singh.
On being asked from where he will contest polls, Prasada told ANI  "These are all speculation; the party will come out with a list of candidates after the CEC and then you will come to know. I don't know anything about differences."
On Friday, when quizzed by journalists over the news about him switching over his loyalties to BJP, Prasada had termed these reports as hypothetical. On Saturday, he said 'the rumour is on' regarding this.
"The rumour is on. How can I comment on rumours? These are all rumours," Prasada told ANI.
On Friday when Prasada was asked by media persons if he was going to join BJP, the Congress leader responded by saying that the question is hypothetical and has no basis. He, however, did not make efforts to strongly deny these speculations or rubbish the rumours.
Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held from April 11 and will go on till May 19 in seven phases. The polls in Uttar Pradesh will be held in all seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on May 23. (ANI)
