Congress takes giant leap in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi [India], December 11 (ANI): The margin has widened substantially between the Congress and the BJP in Chhattisgarh where the incumbent government is leading on just 17 seats while the Opposition gained a lead on 58 seats.

New Delhi [India], December 11 (ANI): The margin has widened substantially between the Congress and the BJP in Chhattisgarh where the incumbent government is leading on just 17 seats while the Opposition gained a lead on 58 seats.
Chief Minister Raman Singh, who is seeking a fourth term in the state, is trailing from his constituency where he is contesting against Congress' Karuna Shukla, niece of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The Ajit Jogi led Janata Congress Chhattisgarh which stitched a pre-poll alliance with Mayawati's Bahunjan Samaj Party is leading on five seats.
Meanwhile, Congress is also giving a tough fight to the BJP in the states of Rajasthan as well as Madhya Pradesh.
As per the latest trends, the Congress has gained an early lead in Rajasthan on as many as 99 seats while the BJP is trailing with 79 seats.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP government in Madhya Pradesh is also not getting a smooth sail as the Congress leads on 112 seats in the states while the BJP on 102 seats.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi is leading in the state of Telangana while the Mizo National Front is marching towards victory in Mizoram. (ANI)
