New Delhi [India], Jul 24 (ANI): Congress MP Husain Dalwai on Tuesday slammed Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar for his remark that mob lynching in the country would stop if cow killing came to an end.
Speaking to ANI outside Parliament, Dalwi wondered why no action has been taken against Dalwai for his statement.
"Indresh was named in bomb blast case. Why does the government allow him to speak like that? Why is he not jailed?" Dalwai added.
"Unka lynching hoga to samjhega kya? (Will he understand when he is lynched?) We do not want this for anyone. They want to make India Pakistan or Afghanistan," he added.
Echoing similar sentiments, another Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said hatred was being spread in communities in the name of cow and beef.
"Hatred is being spread in the country and various communities. Cow and Beef have just become an excuse to attack people," Tharoor said.
The RSS leader has drawn flak from various quarters for his lynching remark.
On July 23, while addressing a conference in Delhi, the RSS leader said, "If cow-killing is stopped then mob lynchings will also automatically end. And the violence in any form practiced by any person belonging to any caste, sex, religion is a deplorable act. In India, there is no such belief which okays cow slaughtering for religious practices."
His remark came in the backdrop of Rajasthan's Alwar lynching incident where a 28-year-old Akbar Khan was allegedly beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of cow smuggling. (ANI)

In an 'X' post, TMC said the government has "ek hi naara, line mein rahe desh bechara," pointing to past governmental measures including demonetisation, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the Special Identification Registration (SIR), and now the LPG shortage. The party described demonetisation as a "Tughlaqi farman" that forced ordinary citizens to wait in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs for days to access their own money. The post also highlighted the 2020 COVID-19 oxygen crisis, when families stood in long lines outside hospitals and suppliers as the public health system collapsed.
