"Congress saved the constitution of this country" : Congress President Kharge hit backs BJP

Mallikarjun Kharge said, "These people (BJP) say that the Congress party has not done anything in 70 years. If we had not done anything in 70 years, PM Modi would not have become Prime Minister, and Amit Shah would not have become Home Minister. We saved the constitution of this country; that's why you're sitting on that chair..."

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], November 3 (ANI): Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said that if the Congress had not done anything in 70 years, PM Modi would not have become Prime Minister, and Amit Shah would not have become Home Minister.
"We are not asking for votes without doing anything... When we were in the centre, we brought the MGNREGA scheme, brought the Food Security Act, and worked for the education of children...What is being seen today is not because of PM Modi..."
Earlier, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, while addressing a rally in Sukma on Wednesday, targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying PM Modi keeps abusing the Gandhi family, although no one from the Gandhi family has held the PM post for the past 40 years.
"He (PM Modi) keeps abusing the Gandhi family. Has Rahul Gandhi ever been the PM? Has Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ever been the PM? Did Sonia Gandhi accept the PM's position? The last PM from that family was Rajiv Gandhi. For 40 years now, no one from their house has been in any position. No minister, no CM, no central minister and no PM. He (PM Modi) keeps abusing such people every day," Kharge said.
"The BJP does nothing but keep taunting the Congress party. We made sacrifices for the country. Indira Gandhiji (Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi), Rajiv Gandhiji (Former PM Rajiv Gandhi) and Mahatma Gandhiji sacrificed their lives for the country. Does the BJP have such people? They (BJP) do the 'vote-bank politics'", Kharge said while addressing a public gathering in Chhattisgarh's Sukma.
Kharge reiterated the conduct of the caste census by the Congress government.
"PM Modi always says he comes from a poor family. Now, if you are backward, then Bhupesh Baghel should also not be removed for the same reason. Congress has four chief ministers, out of which three are backward." he said.
He asked BJP, "You are asking about what Congress has done in 70 years, tell me what you did in nine years?
"Our party works for the welfare of Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and farmers, there is no caste system here. It is our aim for everyone to work together," said Kharge. (ANI)
