Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], August 11 (ANI): Ahead of Independence Day, the 'Tiranga Yatra' that was scheduled to be organised in Jaipur on Sunday by the Congress was postponed due to heavy rain and severe water logging in the city.
Traffic jams in the city due to waterlogging and excessive rains in Jaipur and the nearby areas have posed problems for the Congress workers in reaching for the Tiranga Yatra, the party said in a press release.

RR Tiwari, President of the Jaipur unit of the Congress, said that the Tiranga Yatra has been postponed due to heavy rains in the city.
"The Tiranga Yatra which was supposed to take place today has been postponed due to heavy rains in the city. I appeal to all the district officers, block presidents of the Congress to inform the administration if they face any issues and also help the residents in case of any problem," Tiwari said.
Additionally, all workers have been requested to hoist the national flags at their respective residences and establishments on Independence Day on August 15, he said.
Notably, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur districts of Rajasthan on Sunday and has predicted the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain.
A yellow and orange alert has also been issued in some districts of Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, earlier today in Delhi, Bhartiya Janata Party MP Bansuri Swaraj participated in the Tiranga Yatra.
MP Bansuri Swaraj could be seen on a bike, waving 'tiranga' as she participated in 'Yatra'.
"On the call of PM Modi, 'Har Ghar Tiranga' has now become a mass movement, marking the celebration of Independence Day, I urge everyone to put up national flags on their home," MP Bansuri Swaraj said.
Earlier on Saturday, BJP president JP Nadda along with Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel flagged off the 'Tiranga Yatra' in Rajkot Gujarat.
Addressing a public gathering here during the Tiranaga Yatra, Nadda said, "Today as we set out on 'Tiranga Yatra' and see 'Tiranaga' all around us, the period of freedom also comes to mind. The state (Gujarat) has played a big role in the independence movement of our nation." (ANI)
