New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): Congress leader Ajay Maken on Wednesday arrived at the Tughlaq Road Police Station here to file a complaint against the Union leader Ravneet Singh Bittu over his remarks on the Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday. Bittu had made these comments in response to Rahul Gandhi's claim that Sikhs were not being able to wear the kada or the Turban in the country.
Maken said that Indira Gandhi was hit with 34 bullets and had died and he further added that Rahul Gandhi's father was killed for trying to maintain peace.
Speaking to the media, Maken said, "Bittu had told Rahul Gandhi that he would be in the same condition the way his grandmother was. We all know that Indira Gandhi was hit with 34 bullets and Rahul Gandhi's father was killed for trying to maintain peace. These comments are being made against someone whose father and grandmother sacrificed their lives for the nation. Politics in India cannot stoop lower than this."
Further, he added that despite the remarks made, the BJP party did not try to even silence or condemn his remarks.
"Despite the horrible comment made by him, the BJP party did not even try to silence or condemn his remarks. Rather, another BJP leader said that anyone who cuts Rahul Gandhi's tongue will be rewarded Rs 11 lakh. Is this politics? You don't like Rahul Gandhi because he talks about the minorities, Dalits, backward classes and the backward constitution," he added.
Maken added that the Congress party is not scared of any death threats and no matter what happens, the voice of their leader cannot be suppressed.
"I want to tell the BJP that we are not scared of any death threats. The Congress workers will not let the voice of their leader be suppressed. We have filed a complaint against Bittu and demand strict action against him. His threat to kill him in public is illegal. We have filed a complaint against ex-Delhi BJP MLA (Tarvinder Singh Marwah), Shiva Sena MLA (Sanjay Gaikwad), Union Minister and BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan (Ravneet Singh Bittu) and UP minister Raghuraj Singh," he said.
