Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Nov 25 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said the Congress was the "biggest communal" party in the country. "The Congress practices petty politics and is the biggest communal party in the country," he said.
Chief Minister's Chouhan's comments come in the wake of a viral video, wherein Congress state unit president Kamal Nath could reportedly be seen asking Muslim leaders to secure at least 90 per cent their votes for the party in order to dethrone the BJP government.
Speaking to ANI, Chouhan said, "The Congress is practicing petty politics. They are the biggest communal party. Sometimes they want Muslim votes. At times, they visit temples. Some of their leaders roam around with a garland of lemons and chilly around their neck. They claim they that they will lose if they don't get 90 per cent Muslim votes. Then it is better to lose," he asked.
"In a democracy, people vote on the basis of the work a government does, the policies and the vision of the government, but to make Hindu-Muslim a basis for asking votes is a rubbish mentality. The Congress is just too frightened as they are going to lose the polls and is now dividing the nation," said Chouhan.
He also said that the allegations of corruption that the Congress is levelling against him are because they could not digest the fact that the son of a farmer has been elected the chief minister of the state for 15 years.
"The son of a farmer is the chief minister while the son of a 'chaiwala' is the Prime Minister. They cannot live with that. I don't worry about their allegations," Chouhan told ANI.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that there was a BJP wave in the state. "Everywhere the people are favouring the BJP. I am sure we will win spectacularly," he said.
In reply to a question regarding Congress president Rahul Gandhi's promise of waiving off farmer loans in the state within ten days of coming to power, Chouhan said, "If someone asks him to bring the moon from the sky, will he get it? He says anything."
The state will go to polls on November 28 to elect its 230 members of legislative assembly. The results will be declared on December 11. (ANI)
