"Congress divides society on basis of castes but PM Modi focuses on ....": Union Minister Khattar

Reiterating Centre's commitment to prioritizing areas crucial for country's development including poverty alleviation, youth empowerment, farmer welfare, and women's empowerment, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that BJP does not divide society like the Congress does on the basis of castes.

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 28 (ANI): Reiterating Centre's commitment to prioritizing areas crucial for country's development including poverty alleviation, youth empowerment, farmer welfare, and women's empowerment, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that BJP does not divide society like the Congress does on the basis of castes.
Taking a jibe at the opposition, Khattar said, "Congress divides the society on basis of castes but PM Modi says for us, it is poor, youth, farmers and women...we have focused on each area according to the requirement of that area. For example, In Rajasthan's key focus areas are infrastructure, employment, energy...so we will talk about the development of Rajasthan and heritage"
The statement by the Former Haryana Chief Minister comes after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the Union Budget 2024 said that there are four key areas, which the government is focusing on, which includes, poor, women, youth and farmer.
"We need to focus on the poor, women, youth, and farmers. The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was extended for five years, benefiting more than 80 crore people. For Annadatta, the government announced higher Minimum Support Prices for all major crops," she said.

The minister said that in the next two years, one crore farmers across the country will be initiated for the natural farming supported by certification and branding. Ten thousand need based bio input resource centres will be established.

She said completion of Polavaram Irrigation Project will help ensure food security of the nation.

The minister also announced measures for welfare of women and girls and for boosting development in the northeastern region.

"Rs 3 lakh crore for schemes benefitting women and girls More than 100 branches of India Post Payment Bank to be set up in the North East region," she said. (ANI)
