New Delhi [India], August 8 (ANI): A Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee delegation met Delhi Lieutenant Governor, Vinay Kumar Saxena at Raj Niwas on Thursday and discussed several pertinent issues of the capital and submitted him a memorandum..
The delegation led by DPCC President Devender Yadav, held an hour-long discussion with LG Saxena, the party said in a press release.
Devender Yadav said that the LG patiently listened to the issues raised by the Congress leaders and assured them of positive action.
Former Delhi Minister Mangat Ram Singhal, Chairman of the Communications Department, former MLAs, Anil Bhardwaj and Jai Kishan, and former Mayor Farhad Suri were also part of the delegation.
Delhi Congress chief, Devender Yadav said that the delegation informed LG Saxena about the looming threat of demolition over the Bhalswa and other dairy owners in the capital following the High Court order to shift the dairies and demolish unauthorised constructions.
LG Saxena promised to take a "sympathetic view" on the issue, as the dairy owners were willing to shift the cattle to some other place but wanted an alternate place if the construction at the dairy site were demolished, Yadav said as per the release.
The delegation also demanded the CBI probe into the deaths of civil service aspirants at Rajinder Nagar due to waterlogging in the basement of a coaching centre and the deaths of a mother and child at Ghazipur in East Delhi due to the alleged negligence and irresponsibility of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to be expedited.
The Congress delegation said the real culprits should be punished and the truth should be revealed.
Devender Yadav further said that the probe into the Rajinder Nagar tragedy should not be limited to that area but should be expanded to other areas to fix responsibility and punish the guilty, the release added. (ANI)
