Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], September 28 (ANI): Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar lashed out at the Congress party, stating that the party is doing corruption in the name of Mahatma Gandhi.
While addressing the media during his review visit to the Gandhi Vatika Museum in Jaipur, Dilawar alleged that the previous Ashok Ghelot-led Congress government had played tricks and committed corruption in building the Gandhi Vatika Museum.
"The previous Ashok Gehlot government also played tricks and committed corruption in building the Gandhi Vatika Museum... Congress is committing corruption even in the name of Mahatma Gandhi," he said.
He criticised the party for not upholding Gandhi's principle while building the museum, which according to him glorifies the British without any mention of Rajasthan's great men like Maharana Pratap and others.
"Gandhiji's principles should be there in Gandhi Vatika, but they are not there. This Gandhi Vatika Museum, built during Ashok Gehlot's tenure, glorifies the British while there is no mention of Rajasthan's great men, Maharana Pratap and others. Gandhiji's name was used to the fullest; Congress made full use of Gandhi. We have not forgotten 1975, when the emergency was imposed. Indira Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have no relation with Gandhiji," he added.
Dilawar was on a review visit to the Gandhi Vatika Museum, which will be inaugurated on October 2, on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The Vatika will be operated by the Tourism, Art and Culture Department following its inauguration.
Notably, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot had earlier warned of staging a protest on Saturday against the operation of the Gandhi Vatika Museum, after which the government issued a press release announcing the opening of the museum on October 2. (ANI)
