Congress' Bobby Panicker and former Nagaland deputy speaker T Yangseo join BJP

Expelled Congress leader and former NPCC working president and treasurer Bobby Panicker, former deputy speaker of Nagaland legislative assembly T Yangseo Sangtam joined BJP in the presence of the party's general secretary (org) BL Santhosh along with state in charge (prabhari) and national secretary Anil K Antony and BJP Nagaland chief Benjamin Yepthomi, in New Delhi on Wednesday.

New Delhi [India], October 2 (ANI): Expelled Congress leader and former NPCC working president and treasurer Bobby Panicker, former deputy speaker of Nagaland legislative assembly T Yangseo Sangtam joined the BJP in the presence of the party's general secretary (org) BL Santhosh along with state in charge (prabhari) and national secretary Anil K Antony and BJP Nagaland chief Benjamin Yepthomi, in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Later in the day, Yepthomi the BJP Nagaland chief called on party General Secy (Org) BL Santosh. They held detailed discussions and deliberations on the Party's organisational activities in Nagaland during the last one year.
Yepthomi briefed BL Santosh on the State's performance in the first phase of the Sadasyata Abhiyan Membership Drive 2024. National Secretary and Nagaland Prabhari Anil Antony, H Tovihoto Ayemi- Advisor for Tribal Affairs along with former Deputy Speaker Yangseo Sangtam and former Vice Chairman of North East Congress Coordination Committee, Bobby Panicker were also present.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched BJP's 2024 membership drive by renewing his membership on September 2. The new membership drive was launched in New Delhi with PM Modi getting the certificate for the renewal of his membership from BJP president JP Nadda. (ANI)
Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 53 lakh members have enrolled as BJP members in the state. "So far we have been able to enrol 53 lakh members, and we have achieved 85 per cent of our target. As of now, Assam is the number one state across the country that achieved 85 per cent of its target. In 71 Assembly constituencies of the state, we have enrolled more than 40,000 members in each constituency," CM Sarma said on Monday.
The Assam Chief Minister on Monday visited the state BJP headquarters in Guwahati and took part in a review meeting with the state BJP leadership on party's membership drive. (ANI)
