Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], Dec 5 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that the Congress party is contesting the assembly elections on the lines of communalism, dynasty and appeasement politics.
With campaigning in Rajasthan scheduled to end later today, political parties - especially the Congress and the ruling BJP - are pulling all stops to outdo each other in wooing voters.
"The Congress party try to fight elections on the basis of caste issues and dynasty, while the BJP is contesting these polls on the issues of development and upliftment of the people and the state," said Amit Shah, the BJP president, at an election rally here.
Exuding confidence that the BJP will retain power in Rajasthan, he added, "the Congress Party has engaged in negative politics and promoted casteism and appeasement. They have tried to fight these elections using their usual three topics - communalism, dynastic politics, and appeasement politics."
The legislative assembly election in Rajasthan, in a single phase, will be held on December 7. The BJP is aiming to retain power in the state, while the Congress party is leaving no stone unturned to wrestle Rajasthan back from the Vasundhara Raje-led government.
"The BJP's motto has always been politics of development. Overall BJP has organized 222 public meetings and conducted 15 roadshows in Rajasthan," Shah added.
The BJP president also questioned the Congress party for not declaring a face on which they are contesting elections in Rajasthan. "The condition of Congress is so bad that till today they are unable to decide their chief ministerial face. In every district, each candidate is calling himself future chief minister of Rajasthan and are trying to bag a large number of votes," Shah said.
In his concluding remarks, the BJP president asserted that his party has performed very well in all elections after forming the government at the Centre in 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that the party will repeat their victory in Rajasthan as well.
The main fight, in Rajasthan, is between the BJP and the Congress. However, the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bahujan Samajwadi Party are also contesting along with several other political outfits.(ANI)
