Makrana (Rajasthan) [India] Nov 26 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a jibe at the Congress in poll-bound Rajasthan saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shoots down terrorists who were fed with biryani by the Congress.
"Congress has done divisive politics. As a result of that, terrorism was at its peak in the country (during Congress rule). Today, you can see that the terrorists who were fed with biryani by the Congress are now being gunned down by us," Adityanath said in reference to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist who was caught alive after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Kasab was later hanged to death in 2012 after serving a brief jail sentence.
Continuing his tirade against the Congress, Adityanath said that after a major defeat in the last general election in 2014, Congress leaders started criticising soldiers while supporting Naxalites, separatists and terrorists in the country.
"Neither is democracy a descendant of any heritage nor is it a mafia raj. Democracy has no place for terrorism, Naxalites and separatists," he emphasised.
Adityanath also expressed confidence about his party's victory in the Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh state elections. "There is no doubt that Bharatiya Janata Party will retain power in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on the basis of its development work and efficient administration. If BJP can form the government for four consecutive terms in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh then why not twice in Rajasthan," he added.
The Uttar Pradesh chief minister observed, "We usually criticise the Congress for their stand against our country, against our traditions, but during the time of elections we get trapped in their false promises based on caste, religion and region."
He also appreciated the sacrifices of the state's denizens in building the nation. "Rajasthan stands at the top for shedding its blood for the nation and the Congress has always dishonoured the martyrdom of Rajasthan as it allows the terrorists to breed on our soil and it gives space to Naxalism to sustain," he claimed.
Lauding the efforts of incumbent Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for developing the state, Adityanath said the Congress will never win under the guidance and leadership of a "non-performing leader" like Rahul Gandhi.
"Congress leaders disappear whenever our country is in crisis and it is only the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) who support the people and help them to overcome the critical situation," he said.
While attacking the Congress president for showing off his caste and origin, Adityanath said: "Rahul Gandhi's maternal grandfather (Jawaharlal Nehru) used to say that I'm accidentally Hindu and now, Rahul Gandhi is showing his 'Brahaminical thread' to prove that he is a Sanatani Hindu." He also criticised former prime minister Manmohan Singh for saying during his tenure that "Muslims have the first right on the sources of this country". "If everything belongs to Muslims then where will country's Hindu go?" Adityanath asked.
The 200-member Rajasthan Assembly is scheduled to go to polls on December 7 and counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)
