Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], September 30 (ANI): Taking potshots at the Congress government, ahead of Rahul Gandhi's visit to the poll-bound state, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday pointed out at the party's declining influence, highlighting the absence of any "big leader" in Haryana during the Assembly elections.

Saini likened the current condition of the Congress party in Haryana to its decline in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, where it used to be strong but has lost its influence over time.

"In the last few days, it has become clear that the condition of Congress is also going to be like that of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Now even the leaders of Congress have started accepting this. This is the reason that in the last 15-20 days, no big leader of Congress has agreed to come to Haryana. Now in a state of desperation, Congress sometimes releases manifesto twice and sometimes its leaders give absurd statements. Congress is in a state of confusion today. It is not able to understand what it should do," Saini said while speaking to the media.

Saini further pointed out at the Congress leader's recent statement on reservations in America, where Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party will think of scrapping reservations when India becomes a "fair place," which it is not.

"Now suddenly the news has come that Rahul Gandhi, who gave anti-reservation statements on foreign soil, is coming to Haryana on a political tour for 2-3 days. Haryana is a good place. In the last 10 years, the BJP government has developed Haryana in all directions. Therefore, he should come here and roam around and do his tourism," Saini said.

He further said, "The youth of Haryana will ask him why he is silent on the 'Kharchi, Parchi' that happened during Hooda's rule? The Dalits of Haryana will ask that after opposing reservation, with what face has he come to Haryana? The farmers of Haryana will ask him that after giving their lands to Damads, how is he talking about their rights? The women of Haryana will ask, after giving promises to Himachal, why doesn't he go there? Rahul Gandhi should answer all these questions."

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, earlier this month, while making an address in Haryana slammed the current BJP government over growing "unemployment" in the state.

Alleging that the Centre and state government's policies have led to severe curtailment of employment opportunities, he said that if the Congress returns to power, it will create employment avenues.

"A few days ago I went to America. I met young men from Haryana in my program in Texas. I saw the video from there. Do you want to understand Haryana today? In that video I was told that 15-20 thousand people from Haryana are going to America. Then I met your brothers. 15-20 people sleep in one room," said the Congress leader. (ANI)
