"Committed to supporting ongoing investigations": Rau's IAS Study Circle after three students die in flooded basement of coaching centre

New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): After the Delhi Police arrested the owner and the coordinator of Rau's IAS Study Circle over the death of three students due to flooding in the basement, the coaching institution said it is fully committed to supporting the ongoing investigations into this tragic incident.
The Delhi Police arrested the owner and the coordinator of Rau's IAS Study Circle in central Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar after three students died in their coaching centre due to flooding in the basement, police said on Sunday.
Senior police officers confirmed that Abhishek Gupta, the owner, and Deshpal Singh, the coordinator, have been booked under charges of culpable homicide and negligence.
Meanwhile, the RAU's IAS Study Circle, stated on Sunday afternoon, that they are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities and agencies to ensure that all necessary information is provided and that the investigation proceeds with the utmost diligence.
"We are dedicated to assisting in any way possible to uncover the truth and ensure accountability. As we await further developments, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing support to the affected families and addressing any concerns that arise from this incident," the study centre said extending its condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased students, Tanya Soni, Nivin Dalwin, and Shreya Yadav.
Deputy Commissioner of Police M Harsha Vardhan said they have registered an FIR at Rajinder Nagar Police Station under sections 105 (culpable homicide), 106(1) (death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide), 115(2) (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 290 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down, repairing or constructing buildings) and 35 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.
"Two persons have been arrested and the incident is further being probed," the DCP said.
Police said while Shreya was from Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni was from Telangana and Navin Dalwin was from Kerala's Ernakulam.
Meanwhile, the students are holding massive protests in Delhi's Old Rajender Nagar area over the deaths of the three UPSC aspirants.
Students are demanding immediate action against the authorities over the incident. (ANI)
