Committed to fulfil dreams of people from Northeast: PM Modi

New Delhi [India], Mar. 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday thanked the people of the northeastern state of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura for supporting the 'good governance agenda' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly election.

New Delhi [India], Mar. 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday thanked the people of the northeastern state of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura for supporting the 'good governance agenda' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly election.

Taking to his Twitter handle the Prime Minister said that the party remains committed to working to fulfill the dreams and aspiration of the people of the northeastern state.

"People of Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura have spoken! I thank the people of these states for supporting the good governance agenda and 'Act East Policy' of @BJP4India & our valued allies. We remain committed to working towards fulfilling the dreams & aspirations of the people (sic)," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Terming the assembly result in Tripura as an 'epoch-making one', Prime Minister Modi said that the people of the state have done an extraordinary work by extending 'phenomenal support' towards to the party in the state.

He further said that victory of the party, in a state with the strong foothold of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) was only possible due to a development agenda and the strength of the BJP.

"2018 Tripura election will be remembered as an epoch-making one! What my sisters and brothers of Tripura have done is extraordinary. No words will be enough to thank them for the phenomenal support towards @BJP4Tripura. We will leave no stone unturned in transforming Tripura," he tweeted.

"The victory of @BJP4Tripura is not an ordinary electoral victory. This journey from 'Shunya' to 'Shikhar' has been made possible due to a solid development agenda and the strength of our organisation. I bow to every BJP Karyakarta for working assiduously on the ground for years," he added.

Promising the people to provide good government, Prime Minister Modi further said that it was a victory for democracy over brute force and intimidation in the state of Tripura.

"The historic victory in Tripura is as much an ideological one. It is a win for democracy over brute force and intimidation. Today peace and non-violence have prevailed over fear. We will provide Tripura the good government that the state deserves," the Prime Minister said.

Further speaking about the results of Meghalaya assembly polls, Prime Minister Modi said that the welfare of the people of the state is utmost important and appreciated the BJP workers continued efforts to the serve the people of the state.

"I express my gratitude to the people of Meghalaya for supporting @BJP4Meghalaya. The welfare of Meghalaya is of utmost importance for us. I appreciate the BJP Karyakartas for their continued efforts in the state to serve the people," the Prime Minster Tweeted.

Applauding the worker of the BJP in the state of Nagaland, Prime Minister Modi said that the party remains committed to working for the progress and prosperity of the people of the state.

"Thank you Nagaland for supporting @BJP4Nagaland and our valued ally. I assure my sisters and brothers of Nagaland that we will continue to work for the progress and prosperity of Nagaland. I applaud the tireless work of the local BJP unit," the Prime Minister tweeted.

He further said that with each election, the people are showcasing their faith in the 'development oriented agenda' of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and are disassociating themselves from the negative and disruptive politics.

"Time and again, election after election, the people of India are reposing their faith in the positive and development-oriented agenda of the NDA. People do not have the time or respect for negative, disruptive and disconnected politics of any kind," he added.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Arun Jaitley also extended greetings to the people and the BJP workers for their support in the legislative assembly elections.

Jaitley on his social media handle said that the success of the party in the three state of northeastern India emphasises zero tolerance policy of the party against corruption.

"Success of BJP & allies in #Tripura #Nagaland & #Meghalaya legislative assembly elections emphasises zero tolerance policy of BJP against corruption, focus on development & growth of the country with the highest priority to #SabkaSaathSabkaVikas," Jaitley tweeted.

Reacting to the overwhelming victory of the party in the state of Tripura, the Finance Minister said that the result shows that the people have accepted development against discriminatory.

"Congratulations to people of #Tripura for historic victory of BJP in the legislative assembly elections. People of #Tripura have accepted development against discriminatory and oppressive leftist rule. Gratitude to the people," he added.

As the counting of votes for Tripura Assembly election is underway, the BJP-Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) alliance is leading on 28 seats followed by the CPI (M) in 16 leads as per the early trends.

As per the latest trends in Meghalaya Assembly elections, released by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Congress is leading on 11 seats, while in Nagaland the BJP-Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) alliance has been leading on seven seats. (ANI)
