CM Siddaramaiah visits Maharani's Science College for Women, instructs officials to complete Rs 150 crore project on time

Mysuru (Karnataka) [India], October 23 (ANI): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during his visit to Maharani's Science College for Women in Mysuru on Monday instructed officials to complete hostel and college with an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore on time.
Talking to the media persons, CM said that Hostel with 4 towers accommodating 2,000 students is being built while a part of Maharani's Science College retaining the heritage building in the front portion new building will be constructed in the remaining space.
Higher Education Department has been directed to take up works with Rs 150 crore including Science College construction work at a cost of Rs 51 crore, arts college with 17 crore and student hostel with Rs 99 Crore, said CM.
CM also alleged previous government of not taking up any development work in Mysuru. "Our government is inspired with the work Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar in the field of education and health and taken up development works", said CM.
Earlier, chairing a review meeting of the state Higher Education Department on Saturday, Siddaramaiah also sought a proposal with regard to the renovation and construction of Maharani's Science College, Mysuru, at the earliest. The institution is currently in a dilapidated state, crying out for repairs.
Apart from that during the meeting he also directed officials to fill Kalyana Karnataka and other backlog posts on priority.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, CM Siddaramaiah said, "The recruitment of teachers is very important to ensuring the desired standards and quality of learning at educational institutions. Hence, I have directed the officers concerned to fill all Kalyana Karnataka and other backlog (teaching) posts on priority." (ANI)
