CM Pinarayi Vijayan condoles Kerala student's death at Delhi IAS coaching center

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed grief over the deaths of three students following flooding in a coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar on Saturday evening.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], July 28 (ANI): Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed grief over the deaths of three students following flooding in a coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar on Saturday evening.
According to the police, the victims have been identified as Shreya Yadav, a native of Ambedkar Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana; and Nivin Dalwin, a resident of Kerala's Ernakulam.
"It is extremely sad that three students died due to flooding at the Civil Services Exam Training Centre in New Delhi. Nevin Dalvin, a Malayali and JNU research student, is also among the deceased. Expressing condolences on their demise. Joining in the grief of family members," said the condolence message from the Kerala CM.
Delhi police on Sunday arrested two people, the owner and coordinator of the IAS coaching centre.
Delhi Minister Gopal Rai, who was present at the protest site on Sunday, said that the government has given instructions to speed up the investigation into the deaths of UPSC aspirants.
"It is very unfortunate the way the incident took place. For this, the government has given instructions to investigate it at a fast pace. An investigation is underway to find out the reason for this," Rai said while speaking to ANI.
He further said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also given instructions to take immediate action against the illegal coaching institutes running in the basement of a building.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena also expressed anguish over the deaths and said the incident was "unfortunate and unacceptable."
"I am deeply anguished by the deaths of 3 Civil Services aspirants due to water logging in the basement of a coaching centre and that of another student due to water logging related electrocution. That this should happen in the Capital of India is most unfortunate & unacceptable," Delhi LG said in a post on X.
The LG also directed the Divisional Commissioner to submit a report, covering every aspect of the tragic incident by Tuesday. (ANI)
