CM Manik Saha terminates hostel warden and caretaker for providing contaminated meals to girls

Following an incident where at least 15 school girls fell ill at the school, the Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Thursday terminated the warden and the caretaker of the hostel. Additionally, a show cause notice was also issued to the Maharaja Bir Bikram Welfare Society, which manages the hostel.

Agartala (Tripura) [India], June 20 (ANI): Following an incident where as many as 15 school girls fell ill at the school, the Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Thursday terminated the warden and the caretaker of the hostel. Additionally, a show cause notice was also issued to the Maharaja Bir Bikram Welfare Society, which manages the hostel.
Dr Manik Saha who is also the education minister of the state has ordered a report to be submitted to him for this case.
According to the officials, the 15 girls have experienced severe stomach aches after consuming a meal from their hostel. After arriving at the school from the hostel the girls fell ill.

The girls were taken to the GB Pant Hospital where Dr Manik Saha promptly went to the hospital to oversee their care.
Speaking to the reporters Dr Manik Saha said "Around 15 girl students came here after suddenly feeling uneasy and experiencing stomach aches during prayer at Bodhjung Girls School. They were rushed to the hospital immediately. When I received the information, I directed the doctors to take all necessary measures. The incident is probably a case of food poisoning. I have directed the officials to submit a report to me on the issue. All the students are stable now, and there is nothing to worry about. I have asked the doctors to provide the best possible care".
