Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 21 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set a target of making the turnover of the state's umbrella brand 'House of Himalayas' Rs 100 crore by the year 2030 and has given instructions to ensure marketing of its products through Unity Mall as well.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday reviewed in detail the progress of the game-changing schemes, including the Chief Minister Udyamshala Yojana, Growth Centre Yojana, House of Himalayas, and Centre of Excellence Yojana, which are operated under the Rural Development Department at the Secretariat. While giving instructions to make special efforts to promote rural entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister said that along with increasing the resources of livelihood in rural areas, it is necessary to give every possible encouragement to people who are returning to rural areas.
He said that for better implementation of the schemes, the 'doorstep delivery system' should be strengthened.
The Chief Minister stated that to create a market for the state's products at the national and international levels, a concrete marketing strategy for the umbrella brand 'House of Himalayas' should be developed. Special attention should also be paid to the quality of its products. The Chief Minister stated that concerted efforts should be made to enhance the products of Growth Centres by adopting a business approach, thereby increasing the livelihoods of local people. Work should also be done to connect growth centres with skill development.
The Chief Minister also directed to make appropriate arrangements to ensure training, financial assistance, and access to the market, along with providing necessary skills, resources, and support under the Centre of Excellence Scheme, to promote women's entrepreneurship in rural areas.
In the meeting, Secretary Rural Development Radhika Jha gave a presentation on the Game Changer schemes of the Rural Development Department. She informed that so far, one lakh sixty-five thousand women have been made Lakhpati Didi in the state. The target is to make one lakh more Lakhpati Didi in the next three years. Under the Chief Minister Udyamshala Scheme, assistance will be provided to fifteen thousand rural enterprises in three years. Work is being done in a phased manner to add more than 150 products of the state under the House of Himalayas. (ANI)
